About Kassandra
Capturing nature’s poetry on canvas.
I’m Kassandra, a German artist settled in my favorite city, Valencia, Spain. My art is a reflection of vibrancy, harmony, and diversity.
I paint on canvas in multiple layers, using acrylics, sand, collage, airbrush, and traditional oils to bring my colors to life. My style ranges from organic abstraction to realism. The bright, cheerful colors of sunrise are reflected in my work, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Nature is my greatest source of inspiration.
I am deeply fascinated by its beauty and poetry, its delicate balance, and the changing of the seasons. These elements find their way to my art, adding depth and harmony to my work.
With my art, I want to encourage the observer to be curious, look deeper, and become more aware of their surroundings.
The Artistic Journey
From the Bavarian Idyll to Mediterranean Valencia
Krumbach Swabia: Where Stories Begin
I grew up in the idyllic small town of Krumbach in Bavaria, helped earthworms cross the street, and made friends with pet owners. My childhood was characterized by a lively imagination: I invented stories, developed games, and created puzzle books. Although I initially dreamed of a career as a writer, I discovered an equally strong passion for foreign languages and mathematics at school. At the age of 15, I decided to train as a bank clerk, but aspired to a more creative profession and completed part-time training as a hair and make-up artist in Munich.
The Foundation of Artistic Expression
At the age of 22, I took the plunge into self-employment and moved to Munich, the pulsating heart of the German creative scene. I worked on film sets, at fashion shows, and with photographers. As a lecturer, I passed on my extensive know-how to aspiring make-up artists and hairstylists.
Airbrushing is simply wonderful. The paint is applied in a fine spray mist and the color gradients are fluid.
My specialization in airbrush techniques in 2015 led to assignments in Berlin, Düsseldorf, and many other German cities. I traveled particularly often in southern Germany, characterized by its idyllic mountain panorama, as a bridal stylist.
Skip the Make-up
A fascination with Spain drew me to Valencia, where I lived with a host family and immediately fell in love with the city's life-affirming ambiance. During this time, I met my partner and moved with him to the Lower Rhine. In Kalkar, I began experimenting with an airbrush on metal scraps and created abstract, colorful work of art.
The positive response encouraged me in my decision to further develop my artistic abilities.
Taking It Seriously
Eventually, my partner and I returned to Spain. In Valencia, inspired by the light and beauty of the coastal city, I completely dedicated myself to art.
I decided to enroll in the one-year Mastery Program of the Milan Art Institute to refine my techniques and deepen my understanding of art.
An Artist Bringing Color to the World
My positive and curious nature is clearly reflected in my art, with vibrant color combinations as imaginative as my childhood stories and games. My deep love for animals and enthusiasm for nature are reflected in every one of my artworks.
My art is an invitation to view the world with curiosity, to stimulate profound conversations, to appreciate the interdependence with nature and lifelong learning.
My environmental awareness was awakened early on. As early as ten years old, I was prompted by a children's program about the ozone hole to reflect on the problem, and launched an environmental campaign. I distributed hundreds of hand-drawn notes with the earth and a black hole to sensitize passersby to environmental protection. This early commitment is a red line that runs through my life. Today, I consciously choose a lifestyle with less plastic and more awareness.
