About this work
The vibrancy and colors of the restaurant Bikini Cabanyal inspired me. The beautiful traditional tiles reminded me of the sea, and I wanted to incorporate them into a painting. I pondered over what animal this restaurant would be if it were one. It's an unusual question, but I ended up choosing the flamingo. This was not only because of its colors, but also because thousands of them flock to Albufera, a natural park near Valencia, at the start of each year.
